First Day Covers
Starting with the first stamp issue in 1984, in parallel to the stamps matching decorative covers attached with the respective stamp(s) and first day cancelled with special cancels are being offered by the postal authority as FDC.
When a stamp set is being issued which included a maximum of 3 to 4 stamps in the period of 1984 to 1996, the stamps are all attached on one FDC.
Of course, privately produced FDCs with different cover designs and varying numbers of stamps on the covers exist. Those are not featured here but only the official FDCs of the postal authority.
The imprinted decorations on the cover are related to the theme of the stamp(s) in varying ways. These can be pretty simple and small designs to very beautiful and large coverings up to full coloring of the entire cover. The "The Beautiful" section of this website features quite a few of the latter, which started to appear post-millenium.
