As of 1991 the Scandinavian or rather Nordic countries introduced what they called "Travel in the Nordic Countries" folders. Each of the countries/regions Aland, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden would contribute stamps. Two pages were dedicated to each of the contributors describing natural beauty and cultural facts. The text on one page in local language, the other one in English. The folders were issued in two-year cycles. The last one dates to 2016.

As of 1992, Aland issued folders each dedicated to a specific topic, the last of which dates from 2022. The issuing periods do not follow a specific cycle but range from none to one to various per year.
