Aland in Finland (Mail)

100_Jahre_Mariehamn_FDC.jpg

Since Aland is part of Finland since the latter's independence in 1917, mail was being handled through the Finnish Postal Authorities. In consequence the postal tariffs for inland mail and mail abroad were the same as those in Finland.

Until 1984 and in mixed postage with Aland stamps until 1992 Finnish stamps were therefore used.
